Everytime i try to dye my hair light brown/honey(like jessica albas), my just turns red...any sugges

ive been trying to dye my hair a light sandy brown color but its just turns into this streaky mix of light and dark brown and red.

can anybody help me with this one? or gimme any suggestions on good hair dye/products for textured hair?

you have red pigment you need an ash to cut the red, so go with ash brown think of the colour wheel

Stop using a haircolor with a warm base. Get one with a neutral base and leave in for the max time. I prefer Clariol products. Good luck.

I had this problem and finally i went to the salon and the stylist told me my hair had alot of red in it naturally, as well as golden colours. I think it is pretty hard to get that red out of your hair by yourself you will probably need to go to a professional

Don't use anything that is a gold color in it...use a product with an "ash" base. That should help.

If your hair has a reddish hue to it not matter what you dye it to lighten it, you are gonna get a reddish tint. Mine is that way and the only way I could achieve my three tone blonde highlights was to go to a salon and have a professional do it. If you do go to a pro then you need to let him or her know what happens to you so they can get the chemicals right.

I think you should try a lighter shade of blonde, you probably have a lot of red tones in your hair. I would try something like an ash blonde. As for products I would go with Loreal, I have been using those for a while now, they work great. I have very coarse hair and the coverage is wonderful.

I have dark auburn red hair and when I do dye it, i have to go darker. The salon told me that to lighten my hair I would have to bleach it out completely then add the color I wanted. That would cause way too much damage to my hair so they wouldn't do it. I was really mad. I was able to go a little lighter bygoing 1 to 2 shades lighter and then a few weeks later go from that shade to one that is a few shades lighter than it. And eventually you should reach the shade you desire.

If you have dark hair, trying to to get a much lighter shade using a tint (dye) will not work. They only have the ability to lift a certain amount. So, dark hair, using a light brown tint will only lift to about the orangey shade.

If you have already dyed your hair, a light tint will not lift out a darker tint. It just won't.

You have to prelighten your hair with a bleaching product and then tint over it do darken it back to a light brown.

That is called a double process.

Go to a salon and have them try to fix it.

Be sure you know what product you used at home or they may really screw up your hair.

Some tints are metalic, some are not. They need to know what is on your hair before they add anything else.

You have to watch what base you are using. Every color has a base color. So it sounds like you are using a color with a red base. Try using one with a gold base it will cut down the red.
