now i'm not talking about bleaching it. i'm talking about actual hair dye, blonde hair dye. i want redish hair, and i heard that if you simply dye over the black with a blonde color it will equal red? is this factual, or am i misinformed?

Its really not a good idea to do that, it usually goes ginger yes but it could really damage your hair

You should get a professional to do it and you need to change your colour slowly seen as its black x

Going lighter is trickier especially from dyed black. I would leave that one to the professionals. Don't do it yourself. You may end up at a salon anyway, having to fix it.

it depends on what product you used to turn it black and what product you're gonna use this time...it does not only depend upon the colors...also, i died my hair black once, and wanted to go a brownish red, so i put blonde hair color on, and my hair tuned grey!!!! you should really go to a hair dresser...unless you want a greenish grey hair color!!! good luck!

dont do that. bad idea. you'll look like a mango. yout hair will be bright orange. and dont redye your hair. wait a bit. if u dye it to much it will break and youll have lots of split ends
