haha i had the same exact hair about a month ago then i dyed it black and its naturally hella dark brown. so i used the herbal essences box dye. worked nice. i love my hair now. =] good luck.

just go to a store and get black hair dye u cant go wrong there black is black salons would charge u alot when u can get someone to help u at home just as easy =)

If you've never dyed your hair before then I would either have it done professionally or with the help of a friend or family member that has dyed hair before. Or be VERY careful when doing on your own. You can buy a paskage of dye at the drug store/pharmacy and follow the instructions VERY CAREFULLY. Also try to use a shade close to your natural hair color if you don't want to have root problems. You could also have it done professionally the first time and then ask the stylist for easy tips on how to maintain the new hair color at home and how to change it next time you want to or fill in the roots if the roots are noticable even though the shade is close.

My roommate (who is a beautician) recommends just dying it black like you want. Black is the easiest color to use to cover any pre-colored hair. Now the problem will be when you want to get back to lighter colors. You'll have to bleach it and strip your hair strands from the black dye--that will damage your hair A LOT.

I would pick a really dark brown color and leave it on for maxium time. This way if you don't like it the color will fade a bit leaving a brown color. I dyed my hair dark dark brown i can't member the color and i got black hair. I hate it black!!! but in a few washings it will be the perfect color. Just something to consider.

Please, Please, Please know that black is the hardest color to get out once you get bored with it. I died mine back in September, redyed in Norvember using Herbal Essence, great product to get BLACK hair.
