I think turquoise would clash with auburn hair, so definately purple or red. I think red would be sort of "matchy-matchy" and purple would be very pretty. If you haven't bought the dye yet then I'm going to go ahead and suggest you use Special Effects hair dye since it will last longer. They also have the colors you'll be looking for.

To apply the dye you might find it easy to section your hair with plastic clips so that the area you want to dye is well exposed and the hair that you won't be dying is well out of the way (maybe clipped toward the top of your head in a pile). You can slop on the hair with your fingers and work it through the hair strands like that (I found that when I dyed my hair with Special Effects that worked well for me). Or you can use a tint-brush to more neatly apply the dye. When I dyed my hair last though, I found that a tint brush took more time and less dye transfered from the brush to my hair. So I just ended up using my gloved hands.

When you dye your hair you should apply vaseline to any area of skin your hair might touch while you're dying it to make sure that the dye doesn't end up staining your skin. Make sure to wear latex (or vinyl) gloves so that your nails and hands also don't get stained.

To make sure your hair really takes hold of the dye you should let the dye sit in your hair for at least an hour. To do this make sure that you have a plastic cap covering your hair so that the dye doesn't dry out. While you're doing this you should also make sure the rest of your hair is clipped in a manner in which it won't touch the dyed part of your hair.

Your Auburn hair will look better with red, since Auburn has red undertones. It will give your head of hair a nice irridescence that will dance in the light.

teal %26amp; auburn are both pretty classy colors, it would look great on your hair, i'm sure. if you didnt want to do the teal or don't like how it looks after you've tested it, do a purple. auburn looks so amazing with a purple undertone. i did a layer of hair underneath mine with a really cherry red color. it wasn't exactly 'streaks' but just a layer of color. i put the top layer up in jaw clips and just streaked the under-layer. no big deal. but if you're still worried, go to a salon and just ask. or take the color to them %26amp; have them do it professionally. [do that if it's your first time doing a dye-job like this at home]

Turquoise won't look good on you. Go for red.

Red.

I think Brown and Red looks good with red. And I think Blonde and Black looks good with teal.
