My hair is naturally dark brown. People always said I'd look good blonde cause I've dyed it blonde few years ago and I was blonde til I was about 10. Well, I had dyed my hair brown because I wanted to keep the vibrant color instead of the medium brown I had. I haven't dyed my hair in quite a while and my roots growing in looked very similar to the hair dye I had in from a long time ago cause of it washing out, ect. Well I wanted to try the Clairol: Born Blonde that is meant for basically any hair color, including black. It's suppose to make even the darkest hairs look blonde. Well I did the best I could with it and I normally do good coloring my hair, but now my hair is bright blonde on the top and reddish orange for the rest. Its two very different colors and they don't blend well. I need to fix it! Do I get another box and color just the bottoms to lighten them or what do I do?? I can't afford $100s like some people spend. I'm a waitress, I work tomorrow and must look decent.

actually the better color for a hair is ur natural color.. u live for that for a long time and some people love it....dont do experimental about hair coloring bcoz u will suffer some day....like going bald. just be natural...beauty comes from within.. and be comfortable what u've got....thanks

Yeah i know how you feel like my hair is naturally blonde and i dyed it brown then black and when i got tired of it i wanted my hair blonde again so i bleached it and it totally messed up and i looked like a sunburst guitar black on the ends red in the middle and blonde as hell on the roots but i just had to dye it black again but since yours has no black in it you could probably just get bleach and then bleach it blonde and then color it what shade of blonde you want!! good luck!!!

Hair at the scalp colours, and bleaches quicker than the rest because of the warmth of your skin, it dries the hair quicker. Plus that and I always start on the scalp, so that's probably why it goes brighter, or bleaches more also.

I would suggest going to the hairdresser, they deal with these issues all the time. If you use another bleach on your hair it will more than likely do it more damage, causing breakages and the likes. Either that or put a brown colour through it, and wait til your hair picks up in condition before trying the bleach again. Maybe try highlights first, to be more subtle, and then gradually go lighter and lighter.

But biggest suggestion would be hairdresser.

get a semi permanent hair color. You know the ones that wash out because if you dye it again it will dry it out and the semi permanent won't hurt your hair. Get a light brown or something good luck

color makes color go dark. bleach gets color out.

color the roots the color of the ends first to get one color. use 1/2 the developer and 1/2 water to make it less harsh. the color will still deposit into the root area - don't worry.

once you have one color (even if it's an ugly color) then go to a salon and have a color wash done. this should give your hair some kind of dimention and give it a nice color (for your skin) and a glossier finish.

this should help keep down the cost, HOWEVER, once the stylists in your town know that you color your hair all the time (by yourself) they WILL start charging you OUT THE ASHS.

Your roots are bright blond and the bottom is reddish orange. I have no idea why a professional hair stylist is telling you to do the roots again. It sounds like you need to just redo the part that is reddish orange,that part has more color in it that needs to be taken out to make your hair a more consistent color all over, then you can put a toner on it to make it more of a natural color.
