I want to color my hair in two tones. Currently, my hair is dark & lovely red hot, I would like

shade on top and darker in the back. How can I accomplish this look?

Look through some Paul Mitchell books and show your stylist what you want.Do not attempt it by yourself..get a proffesional.

I recommend letting a professional do it. This is one of those things that can look really messed up if it isn't done right.

Coloring hair damages it. Professionals will know how to treat your hair.

Another alternative, although it damages hair, is to spray it with hydrogen peroxide and sit in the sun. I have Asian hair and it lightens to this weird carmel/orange. I am guilty of using peroxide to lighten my hair, but then it makes it easier to color with orther colors.

If you just want to lighten the top, that would work, but I am not sure if you can deal with the carmel/orange.

your best bet is to go to a salon because if you try to use something from the store it is not going to work because you cant lighten color with color you need to strip the other color out in order to get a lighter color you really need to go to a salon because this can be extremely damaging if done wrong as a stylist i recommend you to please see a stylist
