My brown color- treated hair is turning red in the sun - what can I do to protect the color?

Most important - make sure you don't get chlorine in it...that's usually what causes this, esp when the sunlight/heat reacts with the chlorine.

Also, most brands have shampoos %26amp; conditions for color treated hair. I believe both Pantene %26amp; Fructise have versions like that.

Finally, you may want to consider going to salon to get specialty shampoo...Many years ago, I purchased some dark purple shampoo to counteract the effect of the red. I think it was Nexus, but I'm not sure if they make it anymore.

use a colour treated shampoo for hair similar to the colour you have, it will prolong the time you have before you need to colour again also a colour treated conditioner helps

You may need to go to the hair dressers and get a toner put thorough you hair that may help but make sure you look after you hair with products designed espcially for coloured hair. I find Pantene to be the best.
